Don't forget the Holy Island of Lindisfarne - reached by causeway at low tide - with its ruined Abbey, miles of dunes and small bustling village.

There are facilities for sailing, windsurfing, angling, fishing, rambling and birdwatching nearby. There are 18 hole golf courses at Bamburgh and Seahouses - dunes courses with wonderful views.

Directions Turn off the A1 onto the B1340 leading into Seahouses, on the north side of the village.
