Tourist Attractions Loch Lomond is the largest expanse of fresh water in the British Isles. It encompasses a beguiling mix of islands, some inhabited others densely wooded, but all ideal for exploring.

Paths and trails, including the West Highland Way, offer unparalleled beauty for the lover of the outdoors. The rich woodland is home to many rare species of birds, deer and wild flowers.

Touring around the loch, you will come across small villages to wander through. Luss village is amongst them, brought to fame by the television series 'Take the High Road'.

If you would like to explore the loch from the water, loch cruises are available from nearby Tarbet and also from Balloch at the southern end of the loch.

For visitors using the park as a base for touring, it is the perfect location to do so.

Whatever your taste, whatever your age or in whichever direction you travel, your journey will be filled with wonder and amazement at the wild, untamed beauty that Scotland has to offer. The history books come alive with tales of William Wallace and Rob Roy as well as the Campbells and MacDonalds at Glencoe.

One thing is certain, that when you finally leave Scotland, you know that there will never quite be anywhere else that will create within you such a feeling and passion about a country, and you know for sure - you will be back!
