Ladys Mile Holiday Park

First of all, there's our spacious, attractively landscaped location in one of the most beautiful parts of Devon - less than a mile from a superb stretch of Blue Flag sandy beach and close to a major bird sanctuary.

Just come back from this Park... Sunday 28th June 2009 which was on a "Old Fogies'" Special... (over 50s) a week for £75 all in!... Normally we test out Park's before we go to them through the early part of the year, and as coming from Cornwall (the camping Mecca) we usually find the Brochures' are likely to be made up by Estate Agent's... Nice Pictures, 1-3 miles of single track roads with usually a Milk Lorry heading your way, and you will be the one to back up... BUT! We had been out the week before in Cornwall and been blown off, so throwing Caution to the Wind and finding this site on the Net we rang the Park on Sat... We asked the young Lady "have you any Spaces" she replied "Plenty" Just turn up any time from 8am to 10pm... "We are about half Full and there are over 300 pitches left"... She then took our details and mentioned our over 50s discount... So with that we decided to go the next day Sunday...
Setting off early from Cornwall we arrived in good time at the Park at 9.30am... It was easy to find directly off the Main Exeter to Dawlish road... We where waiting for her to tell us which Pitch but she said go where you like and handed us a Park Pack.... We set off walking leaving the Caravan in the Car Park/Waiting area, and it was then when we rounded the corner to the Pitches our mouths fell open...
"There was no Litter", all the pitches where individually Lined, Tree lined Avenues, Grass cut as bowling greens, Fencing all neat and not broken, Rabbit's and Squirrels just getting on with their daily routines, Toilet Blocks to a very high standard (no button holding) and Shelves, Launderettes that would equal high streets, Shop that sold almost Everything and most items Pre-Priced by manufacturer or Locally Supplied from nearby, Indoor Pool Large and with top class Changing Rooms (for us Fatties), Out door Pool Excellent although we did not use it (ample seating), Nice Bar and reasonable priced, good take away and all in all the whole park was Top Class...
But what we like most is that our 4 wheel never turned a wheel all week, just outside the Park is a Bus Stop every 20 mins to Dawlish Warren, Dawlish, Teignmouth and on to Newton Abbott.. Or Exeter the other way from the stop on the other side of the road... We exercised our free Bus Passes to Dawlish a beautiful Sea Side Town, and on some days from Dawlish we would go by Train to Paignton and Torquay for only £4.40 return from the Station at Dawlish Sea Front...
"To Summarise".... We can Honestly say that it was well worth the Visit to This Park we enjoyed it very much....
"Things you need to Know" .... "In our Opinion!"....
It's not called Lady's Mile for nothing... It felt like a mile everywhere we went on it... This is a very Big Park 600 + Pitches and set on flat to tiered levels, caution is needed on the flat Pitches although they look flat there is a small slope so chock wheels before unhitching, and a few have need of Yellow levelling Blocks just to trim sideways... There are Huge Trees which hang over some Pitches and are a Blessing when looking for Shelter from the Strong Sunlight, but be warned the do drop Blossom and Sap so don't leave you car under them, But we have found that it does come off with a hot wash and wax so no harm done!..
For those who like to walk every where, there are more walks than you can handle here, Down to Dawlish Warren through the Park rear or Golden Sands or Dawlish or the little Port and Ferry to Exmouth, Sidmouth etc...
"Finally" some will say Thank God! Just couple of Miles from the Park from Exeter Way is a Narrow Bit it is only a hundred yards but for some reason its every for themselves here, so be careful! Devon is Now Digital! so bring Freeview Box!!!!..
We Can't wait to go back "Oh and We forgot to Mention that your arms and neck will ache waving and Nodding to everyone as they pass by on this Park! Everybody is so Friendly!"
