Tourist Attractions Leisure activities nearby include boating, sailing, and windsurfing and if you have your own boat, you can launch it from the parks own private marina. Fishing is also available (a national fishing licence must be obtained) and if you want to take to the hills for walking or climbing, you could not be better placed.
White Cross Bay is an ideal base for touring the Lake District, with the popular towns of Ambleside, Windermere and Bowness only a few minutes drive from the park.

Directions White Cross Bay is approximately 15 minutes drive off junction 36 of the M6. Follow the direction signs to Windermere on the A591 until you reach the Town Centre. Pass the town centre, staying on the A591 following signs for Ambleside. White Cross Bay is on your left hand side after approximately 2 miles.
By Road using motorways from Manchester, it takes approximately 1.5 hours to Cumbria and the Lake District, whilst the average journey time from London and the south-east is around 5 hours. From Birmingham to Cumbria and the Lake District is only 2.5 hours.
